Reid's VIP day!

Thursday, Reid was the VIP! He was so excited. He talked about it for 2 weeks. I was able to help out in his classroom as well. We had a good day. It was nice to finally meet all his new preschool friends. At least now I know who is who. His preschool is nice, but very different from Sydney's preschool experience! I have found a new appreciation for the Program at Oakdale and what it does for the students. I wish that Reid could have gone through that program as well. Check out the pictures from our watermelon day!

His class is meeting for the morning circle time! They talk about the calendar, weather, and the VIP shares his show and tell items. Reid brought his pony, lightning McQueen car, and a family photo. He has 14 children in his class. Before meeting for circle time they have about 15 minutes for free choice time.

Reid is in the VIP chair. He was most excited to do the "wedder" (weather).

The theme for today was watermelons. The children made these watermelon necklaces and even put real seeds on them. They were cute projects.

Watermelon dot to dots.

The children pulled seeds out and counted them and then they all ate the watermelon. Most of the children wanted more to eat. I think overall they all liked it.

I was in charge of the watermelon station. Each group finished with the watermelon early so they were allowed to do playdough until it was time to move to the next station. The third station was playing in the gym with some different large motor toys. This is Reid's favorite thing to do at preschool. Since, it is in a church that does not have a playground outside, this is their alternative.

After they finished with their three stations then they meet together for a prayer and then they enjoy a snack in the snack room. That finishes out their day. Usually, Sydney, Elyse and I walk to pick him up if it nice weather. Otherwise we sit in our cars in the circle and the teacher walks each child out to the car when their parent reaches the door. On one hand this is nice because I do not have to take everyone out of the car, but I do miss the contact with other parents. I feel like I still do not know any of them.
